Buzzsaw Loop begins and ends at the east end of
Buzzsaw. The trail is a loop traversing the eastern of the two ridgelines that make up the Frisco Peninsula on either side of
Crown Point Road.
Buzzsaw Loop has connections to Rocky's Ride, Scenic Loop and
Crown Point Road. Recent deforestation of the Peninsula for pine beetle mitigation has resulted in stunning 360 degree views from this trail that extend from the continental divide around to the
Ten Mile, Gore and William's Fork Ranges.
The trail, like many on the Peninsula is as much double as singletrack in nature. From
Buzzsaw, ride counterclockwise through a drainage along a logging road. A singletrack takes off on the left side of the road after 1/4 mile. Continue on along the rolling singletrack to a steep, stinger climb at the top of which is a three-way intersection with Rocky's Ride to the right.
Go left, passing straight through another intersection almost immediately with Scenic Loop on the right. Continue along the doubletrack to a pair of high points, then descend south. Watch out for a trail intersection on the left, followed quickly by another signed intersection on the left. These are both continuations of
Buzzsaw Loop, forming a triangular shaped intersection. To the right is a short connector to
Crown Point Road.
Go left and descend to the beginning of the loop at
Buzzsaw.
