Overview
Binder is mostly smooth singletrack with mild climbs and some technical rocky sections. Each loop has its own share of tight swicthbacks, narrow trees, and quick flowing descents.
Description
You can start from any of the trailheads, but the most common is to start from the old bait shop. This ride encompasses the
Green Loop,
Blue Loop,
Red Loop,
Yellow Loop. The trail flows best in a counter-clockwise direction.
From the bait shop trailhead you'll ride half of the
Green Loop until a field. Stay right and it becomes the
Blue Loop, which you'll ride about half of unit you come to a switchback right next to the road that is marked with a blue arrow pointing to continue down the switchback, and red and yellow arrows both pointing to exit onto the main road. Exit onto the paved road to access the
Red Loop and
Yellow Loop. Head right toward the gated entrance, and enter the
Red Loop by riding over the bridge spanning the ditch on the south side of Rainbow Drive.
After the
Red Loop you'll cross the ditch again with the same small bridge, then head right and ride on Rainbow Drive across the dam. Take the next left toward the campground. The trail starts from the gravel pull out on the left. After the
Yellow Loop return to the
Blue Loop by crossing the dam again and heading back through the gated entrance. Take a right into the woods to continue the switchback section on the
Blue Loop. The
Blue Loop will end in the field and becomes the
Green Loop again once you reenter the woods. The trail is straight forward from there, finishing with a very fun flowing descent that pops you right by the bait shop.
