Current trail status is available on www trianglemtb.com or by calling the park office at 919-387-4342.. Scheduled rides and volunteer workdays are planned by Triangle Off-Road Cyclists, (TORC) and can be found on Meetup at meetup.com/torc-nc/ .

This is one of the most beginner friendly trails in the triangle metro area. From the Cypress parking lot, the beginner trail starts with a smooth flat section through the pines. Then, it offers views of Harris lake before ducking into a tight twisty section weaving through trees. At the midpoint of this trail, you can continue to the Lower intermediate trail or make two left turns to finish the beginner trail. On the second half of the trail, there a few whoop-de-doos, a small incline with small roots to cross and a few small berms. This section can also be accessed from the bottom of the Hog Run Bike Trail parking lot by taking the first right off the doubletrack section. You would then start with a series of small berms.
