Dogs Off-leash
Overview
Description
From just off the Coal Creek Bike Path there's a nice easy entrance to the trail system- simply cut hard right as you enter to ascend the
Sidewinder trail that makes a few mellow switchbacks to the top. From here, pop onto the road that leads uphill to the Sunset East trails. Look for a small sign and entrance to your left to get onto the trails and then ascend whichever way you feel like (there's a newly built Ascent trail that goes straight up between the
Green Trail and
Blue Trail runs for the most direct route).
From the top take your pick of either the "
Green Trail" (left) or "
Blue Trail" (right). The
Green Trail has been recently rebuilt to include plenty of rollers, jumps and banked turns, while the
Blue Trail is more of a flowing downhill run with dips and tighter turns. Feel free to do a few laps to try them both out!
When you're finished doing the upper loops head back down the road to the West trails where you can take the right at the top and then a left to swing onto the
Sunset Ridge trail that has a nice banked entrance turn to start things off, keep heading north on this until you reach the terminus of the loop.
Turn left at the end to jump onto the
Meadows lower trail that wraps back around and back to where you started. If you're feeling up for another one you can ascend directly from here back to the top where you can polish off the upper
Erie Forest trail that offers some fun features to hop off of.
History & Background
