Description

With lower Tapia Canyon Road closed, this is the quickest way to get back to Wayside Canyon when you finish Karl's Trail.

From the end of Karl's Trailhead east on Tapia Canyon Rd. (this section of Tapia Canyon Rd. is still open). After roughly a quarter mile there will be a turn off to your left, head up this dirt road. After just over a tenth of a mile there will be a singletrack off-shoot to the left that is the best way to get back up to the top. The climb isn't technically difficult but it does get pretty steep in places.

Just follow the trail until it rejoins the fire road, turn right and follow it back to the Wayside Junkyard. From here you can head back to parking or head to the east and continue climbing to do another loop.
