Description

This doubletrack connects Castle Creek Road up to Richmond Ridge Road. It's less steep than Midnight Mine Road, but requires more miles on pavement from downtown Aspen to get to the base of the road. Many people will connect this road to the top third of Midnight Mine Road to reach the Sundeck and then continue back to town on Aspen Mt. Summer Road.

Much of the lower part of the road is in dark timber forest. At the upper third, the road breaks into a large meadow - Little Annie Basin - that eventually affords panoramic views of Hayden Peak to the south.

I'm a cheater, I rode this lonely road with an e-bike; had to use 15%, sometime 50%, pedal assist. I wouldnt have made it in my current condition. — 0h 50m
