Description

Mountain Track spans the Silverpeaks Forest, and is a pleasant ride along a logging road that is closed to private vehicles. The ride can be done in either direction, and starts and ends where vehicle travel is blocked by prominent yellow gates. The majority of this trail passes through fir, larch and pine plantation forest. There are occasional glimpses of the craggy Silver Peaks to the west, and also down to Blueskin Bay to the east. In general, though, the road sticks to the forest (though this could change with future logging), which keeps views limited.

A number of signed hiking trails head off from the Mountain Track, and a bike would be a useful way to get to these trailheads from the north or south traffic gates.

Despite sticking to a high ridgeline, much of the Mountain Track has fairly limited views.
