Overview
This ride is the closest thing to a bull ride you'll find in Las Vegas....unless of course you get drunk at Stoney's!!
Description
Ike's Peek Loop starts and ends on old jeep roads - about 1 mile at the start and 1 back to your truck.
The approach and the first mile and a half of singletrack is a challenging climb, for those that like a good climb, it's appreciable. But from that point on, prepare to become addicted, as this trail is hard to stay away from.
There are many drops/steps from 8" to around 4' both up and down and most have 2 to 3 in close succession. Some of the largest have ride arounds... if you're into that sort of thing.
Exposure, yeah, we have that too! Just don't look down. #1 rule in MTBing: Look where you want to go. The riding is mostly manageable along the edge for an experienced rider, heck you have several inches to play with after all...
The 4-mile mark seems to be a gathering point for fixing flats, mostly snake bites. It's wise to bring tubes and refresh your Stan's for this trail, or you may enjoy a refreshing hike.
Following rubber repair 101 the riding is mostly smooth and flowy with a series of small, fun rock drops/hops. Heck, even the jeep track at the end isn't at all so bad.
When you get back to your truck, shake it off and refresh with a cool beverage from the cooler and a sandwich, then go do it again!
