Overview
The Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT) is a well-designed and well-built trail on 90 percent singletrack through old growth, mixed species forest. It offers riders multiple challenges and rewards as it traverses deep verdant valleys and five different mountains while crossing multiple steams and creeks. It was built as a winding trail along the southern shore of Lake Ouachita to link all the resorts and campgrounds.
Description
The climb up to Hickory Nut Mountain from this section is very difficult. It is very steep and the trail consists of loose rock and very steep side slopes so take caution. If you are descending this section, also please be careful and keep your speed in check. This is definitely the more difficult side to climb up to Hickory Nut Mountain.
The rest of the trail heading towards/from Joplin isn't too bad, I think there is just a couple of short, steep sections that you have to watch out for. The terrain is much like the rest of the LOViT trail, pretty flowy with some nice scenery.
