Description

Cave Mountain Road is part of the UBMBTS (Upper Buffalo Mountain Bike Trail System). It extends from Hwy 16 at Red Star to Hwy 21, just south of Boxley. It passes through Madison Co. (MC3575), Newton Co. (NC9560), and a portion of the Ozark - St. Francis National Forest, where access to Whitaker Point is located at the halfway point.

The Buffalo Creek Trail is 1.8 miles from Hwy 6 and Cave Mountain Road Trail.

At map intersection 33 you'll have the option of turning onto NC 9250 which leads to the Knuckles Creek Road trailhead (on FSR 1476), 3.5 miles from Hwy 16.

Map intersection 34 is with Kapark Road Trail (NC 9100 FSR 1410). Cave Mountain Road Trail ends at this point while Cave Mountain Road continues to Hwy 21.
