Description
Good Call cuts down the center between Ikes Peak / Exposure and
Menny Thanks. This trail offers a ton of flow and is meant to be a two-way trail giving an easier option to get to the top of the ridge.
The bottom of the trail begins off of the jeep road on a bench cut trail that winds up and across the face of the finger. There are two switchbacks that will be a challenge for many riders. The initial climb is probably the most physically difficult part of the trail however it is not too long. Once you reach the top of the initial climb the fun begins. riders who do not wish to attempt the initial climb can use the jeep road as a hike a bike. This route is not much easier if at all. The climb along the top of the finger works its way along the central ridge and is well thought out, making it a fun ascent. The climb features some nice, short obstacles to challenge yourself with. The route on the way up isn't all climbing though. There are a few nice sections where you can gain some good speed and hit a few drops as well. The drops do have ride around options.
Coming down Good Call is an absolute blast! The flow is amazing with a handful of fun ledges to drop and little rollers to pop off. Its never too steep, so you can go as fast or as slow as you like. The trail is great overall a ton of fun no matter which direction you're riding it. Coming down the end of Good Call (often referred to as Last Call) will be the most difficult part of the descent. Riders can either bomb down the rocky steep jeep road or use the singletrack which features a fun jump a little over half way down. Good Call is a great option for intermediate or beginner riders who want to check out the SW Ridge, but think it may be over their head.
