Description

Busch Drive dead ends into this well-known fire road, from where it is pretty difficult to get lost. Zuma Ridge consists of a long, steady climb that peaks at a long-standing ranch called "Buzzards Roost." It then descends to Encinal Canyon Road.

You have essentially four options when navigating this trek: (1) There and back again; (2) hang a right onto Zuma-Edison fire road about 2 miles in, which can loop around to Kanan Rd.; (3) hang a left on the Backbone Trail: Zuma Ridge to Encincal, which begins after the summit; or (4) hang a right on the Backbone Trail: Kanan to Zuma Ridge Fireroad, which begins just after the other Backbone trailhead.
