Shuttling this ride is recommended. There is a pull out with plenty of space to park vehicles at the bottom. You'll then drive up to the bottom of the Red Mountain Hike-a-Bike and start the climb from there. Once you have arrived at the top of the Red Mountain Hike-a-Bike you'll come to a 4x4 road. You'll want to take a right onto this road. Going left will take you down the East Trail.

Looking ahead you'll see the road casually climbs for a short distance of just a few hundred feet through sandy dirt with an occasional rock outcropping. There is a big rock outcropping right at the end of this short climb. Once at the top you can prepare here for your descent. For the doubletrack you'll follow the road all the way back down. It is fairly sandy at the top and not as steep but as you go the dirt turns harder for the most part and it becomes faster as the terrain turns more rocky and loose.
