This trail is incredibly popular with hikers.

Description

From the Buchanan Pass TH, the Buchanan Pass Trail parallels the north side of the Middle Saint Vrain Creek. It is a gradual climb to the Middle Saint Vrain 4x4 Trailhead. The trail picks up the old road that follows the creek. As the trail continues to climb, it terminates (for mountain bikers) at the Indian Peaks Wilderness boundary.

Buchanan Pass trail is a tough rocky trail in the summer, but it turns into a smooth flowy trail in the winter when snowpacked. Peaceful Valley area is a great winter fatbiking destination!

Out and back. Some sections with crazy rocks, especially closer to the wilderness boundary. Recommend a loop with this as the descent. Fun downhill! 11mi — 2h 10m

Huge thanks to all the efforts of those who have cleared the fallen trees- the trail is still snow covered but fully rideable to the bridge. 8mi — 2h 00m
