Description

This is one of the most difficult trails in the AF system because of the technical rock garden that seems to last forever. Starting at Broken Down Snowmobile or the Wandering Lynx Backcountry trails, the first section is the most difficult, with round rocks that will stop you dead in you tracks if you make a mistake.

At the junction with Wandering Lynx Trail 1, cross the creek either by portage or give it a try riding, especially if it's a hot day and you don't mind getting a little wet! The creek rarely gets very deep, so if you don't happen to make it, put a foot down and keep going.

The second part of Island Run is a lot of fun with some flow, rock and a climb that will challenge most.
