Description
Bald Rock Fork Road provides the main access to the rock climbing areas within the Pendergrass-Murray Recreational Preserve.
Bald Rock connects from the Flat Holler Trail trailhead to
Fixer Road. It also connects to Big Sinking which provides direct access to the Sheltowee Trace at New Virginia Road.
If you choose to park at the top of the hill in the alternate parking lot, the return back to your car is a challenge and surprisingly technical climb on a gravel road. It's actually technical for passenger cars as well.
The western end of the road crosses Bald Rock Fork and actually uses the streambed in one location. There is also a crossing of Big Sinking Creek at the intersection with
Fixer Road.
