This trail can hold water during the rain season and be very muddy.
Description
This is a stereotypical Florida trail; very flat, shady and can be muddy, but has almost no sand. Despite its name, you'll never see the river on this trail. There are a few short bridges to keep you out of the mud pits and one short one that spans a creek, but none over a river.
The club does a great job of keeping this trail easy by smoothing out the roots and they made it so the turns aren't too sharp. There is one slight descent that is a fun break from the otherwise two miles of flat trail. You'll almost never ride the entire loop, but instead use part of it to connect the campground to the rest of the trails, or as part of the Easy Loop.
Even if you aren't camping, you may want to take River Loop towards the campground and stop at the picnic table next to a nice small lake for a break.
