Description

HCB is a good trail for experiencing all that Red Fleet has to offer, combining the technical challenge of slickrock with the playfulness of smooth singletrack.

HCB starts on the east side of Donkey Flats Rd at an intersection with J-Boy. Heading south, the route ducks and dives around pinion trees and juniper shrubs over hard-packed singletrack and slickrock. There are a couple of short steep sections before coasting across the road.

On the other side, HCB continues over slickrock along the edge of a rim overlooking the lower reaches of the Red Fleet trail network. This part of the route is mostly level with some minor undulations.

After passing the intersection with the lower end of J-Boy, HCB starts a fun and somewhat steep at times, descent over more slickrock. The views towards the sandstone canyons are awesome through here.

The last bit of the descent is on a slippery hill which feeds out onto the bottom of a dry wash.

On the other side, the trail begins a gradual rolling climb out on smooth and playful singletrack. HCB ends at Donkey Flats Rd across from the start of Lower Jazz-Chromoly.
