Description
This is a very enjoyable trail that has received lots of TLC and attention recently. The trail is well marked so it is easy to find your way around. It's not the most technical trail, as it is comprised of mostly flat terrain, but it offers plenty of sharp turns, drops, obstacles, bumps, and a variety of riding surfaces (hard pack, grassy, and sandy soils) that can be enjoyed by MTBers of all skill levels and interests.
This is a perfect route to practice and polish your technique. Thorns and spines are quite common, so come prepared for that. There are good views of the Caribbean Sea, keys, and mangrove channels and vegetation. Plenty of parking space is available near the trailhead by the entrance gate to the adjoining Ponce Wastewater Treatment Plant. Plenty of nearby restaurants and bars for a post-ride energy recharging session.
