Description

From Telluride's main street (Colorado Avenue), turn south onto Pine Street, proceed several blocks, continuing as the street turns into a dirt road that becomes the Bear Creek Trail. Proceed south on the trail for 2.5 miles to the Falls.

Trail appears to be old 4x4 road. Nothing super technical, but constant uphill grade over loose rocks, with very few flat areas to rest your burning thighs and screaming lungs makes this very challenging at altitude. It's quite busy with hikers, but you're unlikely to see another biker (because of the climb). It's absolutely worth the hard work though, as the views are gorgeous and the downhill is a blast, with zero pedaling for 2+ miles!

Be sure to take a quick rest stop at "Little Hawaii" about 20% of the way up on your left. Beautiful!

Bear Creek Falls is your reward after riding just 2.5 miles up the Bear Creek Trail from the Town of Telluride, CO.

Quite difficult uphill because it's constant climb with few flat spots…and rocky. But the views are gorgeous and the downhill is a blast! 5.5mi
