Description
Gravity Cavity starts at Wolf Road Woods and provides a rapid descent to a three-way intersection with the eastern terminus of
Stonehouse and the western terminus of
One Day.
This rooty and rutted descent will require you to keep your full attention on the trail surface. Also, keep an eye out for other riders climbing up as they have the right of way. Closer to the bottom of the descent, you'll encounter several line choices, some riders will find the riskier direct line will be faster than the more conservative indirect line. After a log pile will be the western end of
Stonehouse. Continuing straight will be
One Day.
Ascending Gravity Cavity is no small feat as riders will need to choose their lines carefully to avoid stalling on a root or ledge. This climb can be challenging for new riders but is very rewarding once they can clean it. The ascent consists of smooth climbing sections and two technical root filled sections. A direct but more difficult line up a root ledge can shorten the climb distance a tiny bit, but at the expense of using additional energy. The majority of the rooty climbing sections are best navigated by following the smooth yet meandering line.
