Description

This section of trail is very straight forward. Starting from the Lion Mountain trailhead keep following the signs. The trail climbs at a consistent but easy grade until you hit the Skyles Lake overlook on the right-hand side about a mile in. As you push past this point the trail descends down some steep, rocky terrain with a tiny bit of exposure.

Once this ends you'll switch back to climbing mode and grind out some rolling/curving singletrack for another 2 miles until you have to cross Sklyes Lake Ln.

View from the overlook on a beautiful spring day. Kickback on the bench and soak in Big Sky Country.
