Description

This is a great, yet steep and rarely traveled, backcountry trail that works great when ridden in either direction. If you're heading up from the Box Canyon area, it's a slightly less challenging climb than Grasshopper Mountain Trail #3569 with better views to the north and west.

If you're coming from the top, it'll stretch out the descent and spare you the plentiful rock gardens on Grasshopper Mountain Trail #3569. The west and north "sides" offers peek-a-boo views through the trees, but the best views are along the east side, from the top of Chucksney Mountain and along the open ridge. It's a big ride and there's no easy way to get in or out, so be prepared for anything except for a crowd!

Rode down (CW). Some overgrown sections and trail devolved into an deep drainage culvert at one point, but otherwise really great. — 1h 00m
