This is a short section of trail used to connect to the West Mountain Trail. It can have some steep climbs through thick forested areas, but allows quick access to the West Mountain Trail. This can be used to create a loop with the West Mountain Trail or provide access to Tripod Lookout.

At times, a lot of cows can be grazing in the area so beware of faint trails when in the open meadows. This trail is currently only cleared every three years by the FS, but the Idaho Youth Conservation Corps and the Back Country Horsemen are working to keep it cut out more often.
