“A fun descent on a curvy singletrack with great views of Missoula and the Rattlesnake.
”
Closed Dec. 1 to May 1 in consideration of the Mt. Jumbo elk herd.
Description
This trail has three sections separated by logging road crossings. The top section is Sidewinder, which is the least steep of the three. It starts with an easy climb up the ridge, followed by a short (about 50 ft), steep, but rideable climb up to the high point on the ridge.
The downhill part of Sidewinder includes one somewhat tricky double ledge--watch out for it--you may want to walk it. Son of Sidewinder and the third section are steeper, but straightforward.
