Description

Starting from the parking lot, this trail slowly descends over a root filled section. Just before you get to the Nashua river, the trail flattens out and goes to the right. The trail goes through a few gullies that can be pumped to great effect, then passes the Groton School Boathouse on the other side of the river.

Shortly afterwards, you pass the end of Dead River Road, and the trail turns as the river turns until Dead River causes the trail to turn back. The trail slowly climbs and winds it way to its end at Town Forest Road.

This was the first impassable part after I started at the east trailhead from the Town Forest Road parking lot. I manage to get across with the downed logs on the right but barely. I would not recommend trying unless you don't mind risking wet feet.
