Family Friendly Aside from a couple of hills, an easy hike or bike ride with many singletrack trails to explore on either side. Dogs are supposed to be leashed, but most people leave them off leash until needed.

Description

This is a gravel doubletrack, service road. It is one of the main access routes into the Port Gamble trail system.

Access it directly from the parking area on Hwy 104 at the Bay View Trailhead, a couple miles south of Port Gamble.

If parking at the RC field trailhead, take the Beaver Trail south onto the Service Road 1100 which will intersect with the Pope Service Road 1000 near the Bay View Trailhead.

The climb up from Service Road 1100 to the intersection with Service Road 1200 and E.T. (a singletrack trail) is long and steep at the end (10%). After that intersection, it flattens out for while before going up a relatively gentle grade that takes you to the highest section of the Port Gamble trails system. It then goes along the spine of the area before turning left and going down 400 feet of relatively steep (and fun on the downhill) doubletrack to the Port Gamble Road Trailhead.

It is one of the main access trails through the Port Gamble trail system. As it winds through the area, you are presented with many possible singletrack trail options.

You can also park at the southern end at the Port Gamble Road Trailhead.
