Please do not ride the trails when wet. There are very few trails close to Philadelphia, and the community works hard to keep them in good condition.
Description
There are multiple ways to access this trail. You can ride from the city and access the trails from the multi-use paved path starting at the Wissahickon Transfer Center. You'll ride north to the Lincoln Drive parking lot. You may also park at the Lincoln Drive parking lot, on W. Rittenhouse Street or in the gravel lot off of Rittenhousetown Ln. You may also park at the Valley Green Inn, but this is in the middle of the loop.
This section of the trail is only about 2.3 miles long. It will end when you see a split in the trail, the
White Trail goes right, and the
Orange Trail continues straight. The trail marker will show a "no bicycles" symbol. Please respect this demarcation. Go right to pick up the
White Trail, which will lead you to the rest of the bike-legal trails.
The trail includes some small log-overs and a few, very short rock gardens. However, this segment of the trail is generally flowy with good overlooks of the Wissahickon Creek Gorge.
