Description
Drop in and immediately bear to your RIGHT. This trail is best ridden in a counter clockwise direction only!
After the drop in, you'll head towards the river, losing a little elevation along the way. Soon you'll encounter the
Inner West Loop on the left away from the river (now an essential portion of the West Loop System). Once you exit the
Inner West Loop, continue Southwest along the Brazos River. You'll be able to see only glimpses of it through the thick tree cover.
The trail has a few camelback humps (natural trail features) and threads through the trees until you finally hit two 90-degree left turns at the south-westernmost point of the trail system.
Thread the trees on your left, continuing counter-clockwise around the West Loop. This section is the fastest portion of all the trails at River Bend Trail System . Hold your speed in the sweeping turns and on the straightaways you'll be reaching speeds above 20mph.
Traction is excellent on the trail, but you DON'T want to ride off-trail, especially at speed. Hidden in the thick weeds are dead branches, logs and tree stump pits.
