Overview

A fun, twisting singletrack along the shores of beautiful Lake Murray. You'll spend most of your time in the woods, with occasional views of the lake. You won't find much elevation gain, but there will be a couple of small climbs that will challenge you. Most of the trail is smooth and fast, however, there are a few rock gardens along the way to keep it interesting.

Need to Know

Bring water, there are no services at the trailhead.

Description

Start at the Buckhorn Trail by the Lake Murray Lodge. Go down the hill to the shore of Lake Murray and skirt around on the sandy, rocky trail surface. Go over a wooden bridge and continue toward Cisco Road. After crossing over Cisco Road, continue straight on the Anadarche Creek Trail.

Make your way over 2"-4" logs and some short, steep switchback descents as you head north. Follow the yellow trail markers with red arrows. There are many trail options, such as the Big Loop or Race Loop.

Turn around at any point for a nice out-and-back, or continue to Pecan Grove to complete the Big Loop.
