Beginning at the intersection of Chainbreaker and Wildcat Road, this trail descends along the contour of the hillside. Previously this trail was a fall line trail that had no turns. It was re-routed by Clemson University as part of a sustainability measure. It now has many tight switchbacks which make the descent very fun.

The last 100 ft or so of the trail is the original drop into the picnic area. It is a bit more rough and has several loose large rocks. If riding from the picnic area up to Chainbreaker, this first section is a strenuous, challenging climb.
