Description

This trail is the northern segment of the Six Mile Ridge Trail. It's open to motorcycles so it sees trail clearing on a once-a-year basis. The southern segment can be reached by using the Krassel Knob Trail.

This trail begins at the Krassel Knob and continues off the knob at a very gradual pace. Take in the views and then prepare. At mile 1.2 you'll have about a half mile of steep and twisty switchbacks that will keep you on your toes. The turns can be loose later in the season so watch your speed and make sure you don't blow out the turns. Once you finish up the switchbacks you'll descend along the south fork of Fitsum Creek. This section is a little rugged in spots and stays in some thick tree cover as you descend to Fitsum Trail. The trail ends at Fitsum Trail. This trail can be combined with Krassel Knob and Fitsum Trail to make a loop from the Krassel Guard Station.
