This trail is a short connector between the Willow Creek Trail and the Skeleton Creek. The trail crosses through an old mining area so there are a lot of old roads coming into the trail once over the pass.

To connect the Willow Creek Trail and Skeleton Creek it is best to turn onto the Little Water Gulch trail at the pass. Otherwise you'll descend down a ways on the switchbacks and need to then climb up a really rocky and rutted old mining road.

There is the possibility to use the Skeleton-Red Horse Connector if you want to descend the switchbacks, but it uses some old mining routes also, and is not a lot of fun.
