Overview

A ride on all the trails on the west side of Beaver Creek State Park. This includes the Salamander Trail, Dogwood Trail Access, Pine Ridge Trail, and the Dogwood Loop with a generous uphill climb and speedy descent.

Description

Start this ride at the Picnic Area Parking and head north to the Salamander Trail entrance. Ride the Salamander Trail counter clockwise, which is the way with most climbing of creek crossings and tight switchbacks.

Hang a right at the fork and continue on the Dogwood Trail Access headed west. Turn right at the next fork and continue until you climb all the way to the Camping Access Road. Turn left on the access road, then turn right on Leslie Road. You'll quickly see the entrance to the Pine Ridge Trail on your left.

Ride the Pine Ridge Trail counter clockwise until you end up back out on Leslie Road. Enter back onto the Camping Access Road and take a right back onto the Dogwood Trail Access. Descend down the Dogwood Trail Access until you can hang a right at the tee onto the Dogwood Loop.

Continue heading downhill on the Dogwood Loop until it flattens at the creek bed, then continue following the creek back to the east.

This ride ends when you return back to the Picnic Area Parking.

Lower section of Dogwood Trail along the creek. This is very near the one trailhead down along Beaver Creek. Many people hike/bike this section since it is so close to the creek and road.
