Description

For many, this trail is the highlight of the series of technical South Shore Canyon trails. As the videos and pictures show, the Free Ride Trail offers a variety of interesting challenges ranging from ladders, and small drops to technical moves that will challenge the most experienced rider. This trail is best ridden in one direction from the intersection of the Rollercoaster Trail down to Skull Canyon.

Each of the expert rated South Shore Canyon trails have their own challenges and are worth the time to explore, especially if you like steep, rocky and technical riding that rewards speed and aggression. There are plenty of alternate lines that offer progressions lap after lap. When the rest of Colorado is under a winter blanket of snow, come here to keep your skills sharp and a smile on your face!

Consider linking together a series of canyons starting from the red gate access point at the top of the Rock Canyon Trail.

The Free Ride Trail and the other trails in the canyons are short, but riders are able to link together a route that would offer many miles and a couple of hours of steep, technical riding. Combine the canyons with some of the more cross country-style trails in the area to make for a great day of riding

Entertaining steep rollers. Not the best flow but good fun.
