Description

This trail is one of many trails within the Doi Suthep National Park. It is definitely best to ride this trail as a shuttle run, and it is also suggested that riders seek out one of many bike/guide shops that operate in Chiang Mai.

This trail starts with a steep drive up the highway towards the temple and summit of Doi Suthep. There are a couple of access road approach angles to hit the trail start point. Once you reach the summit, the trail starts off the road with a very steep and straight section where you must get your weight low and behind center on the bike. From there, the trail quickly rolls into a mix of flowing trail, though tree roots and rock sections are scattered throughout.

This is probably the most common of the many trails in the area and can often be finished off by a short extension that heads back in towards Chiang Mai, where there are many food and beer stops.

Amazing Downhill. Either shuttle or ride up. Later October through Early January are best times to ride. 18mi — 4h 00m
