Overview
Two difficult climbs, each followed by two EPIC descents.
Description
From Diano San Pietro, the route follows the tracks of Special Stages 1 and 2 of the Superenduro Pro del Golfo Dianese race. The route starts with a climb towards Pizzo dEvigno, passes the stables and turns right taking you onto the
Maiali Trail. The trail runs along a ridge and leads to the water tank for the aqueduct at the edge of the area known as the Bike Park because of its many jumps. Rocky-looking but not too steep, the track is feasible with almost any good mountain bike; more technical, instead, is the alternative that you can ride if you turn right, in the direction of Monade: after a few ups and downs it takes you to the middle of the initial climb, in the village of Colla.
From there, keep going until you reach the
Maiali Trail. Now, continue straight for about 1 km on the dirt road, until you reach the junction with
Molini Bis. Steeper, more technical and with a more natural feeling than the other, the track takes you into a dense wood of oaks, beeches, olive trees and 'armuen' [Arbutus] and then to the end of the route, in the area of Molino del Fico, at about 3 km from the sea. Recharge the batteries and don't miss a visit to S. Bartolomeo al Mare, a typical village of the Ligurian coast.
