Overview
With surfaces ranging from paved path, dirt roads, and singletrack, this ride has a little bit of something for everyone. This is a great, shorter ride accessible right from downtown Telluride!
Description
This rides starts quite mellow, with a nice, easy spin on the
Bike Path heading west. Enjoy the views; they'll only get better from here!
From the
Bike Path, turn right onto
Mill Creek Rd, which winds upwards (steeply, at times!) to the
Mill Creek Waterline Trail. This grind is paid off with the fun, flowing nature of
Mill Creek Waterline.
Take a right turn across the wooden bridge and pass below the Mill Creek climbing area so you can cut loose and let the bike go! The ensuing playful trail is very fun and rolling. Eventually, this contouring trail reaches the Jud Wiebe Trail.
Turn left onto Jud Wiebe Trail, which is
very popular with hikers, so keep any eye out and yield for them. While the trail is good for hiking, it is not the most inspiring mountain biking. It is a loose 36-48" wide trail that is a fast and loose descent. It makes for an interesting end to the
Mill Creek Waterline! There are a few built features for the downhill, but be careful because there are almost always hikers on the trail.
