Nice trails, great views!
Hike, bike, horseback permitted.
Description
Wide trail with undulations and some rocks (small).
I typically start at the horse barn and climb in the lollipop stick to the loop. The climb in is moderate with some challenging sections with small rocks(great place for beginners to tackle rocks). Once reaching the loop you can choose the northern or southern leg. Both legs seem to flow faster from east to west but the trail is fun in either direction. The southern leg has some small rock sections (baby heads) that are probably ride-able for experienced beginners but not so long that walking through is a problem. Each leg flows well, but my favorite is riding the northern leg east to west. Done as a complete loop, some prefer the trail clockwise and others counter clockwise. It will come down to each individual which way is better.
This trail is such that the better ones fitness is the faster and more fun it becomes. It is very doable on a cyclocross bike (as is the whole park) but I would also increase the difficulty rating if doing so.
This is probably my favorite trail in this park even though it does not have the fastest downhill sections. Connecting this up with
Big Oak Trail offers more loop options.
This trail is very popular for horses and being aware of good etiquette has proved useful.
