Family Friendly Two beginner friendly trails, geo-caching, and hiking for family activities.

Closed once there is enough snow to groom for XC classic skiing. The outer loop is groomed for fatbiking by the local cycling club.

Overview

When coming out to the Big M Trail System in the Udell Hills, this ride provides folks with about every trail in the system that is worth riding. It includes lung-busting climbs, screaming downhills, flats to get your groove going, and classic, old school trails that take you back to the beginning of mountain biking.

Description

This map provides the course for the NUE Lumberjack 100. It incorporates all of the Big M and its Outer Loop. The ride is 90% singletrack with some doubletracks to add in extra miles.

From the parking lot there are tons of options. All the trails are two-way during the mountain biking season and well-marked at every intersection. There's basically an inner and outer portion to the system. The outer loop has three or four major climbs broken up with flatter sections for recovery and casual riding. The inner portion is an interval-like series of ups and downs.

All clear and ready to ride. The beginning part of Oh Me II was a bit overgrown but still rideable. A lot of sand pits at the bottom of hills 14.8mi

Trail is in very good shape. Very few sandy sections. The center sections have a lot of fun, fast hills to climb up and zoom down. 11.5mi — 1h 45m

Easy trails but lots of sand. Nice way to see the forest but not very engaging trails. A lot of uphill without great reward.
