Parking pass for Silver Falls State Park is required. Unfortunately, you'll have to drive a little ways down the Silver Falls Highway to purchase a day pass for $5 or a year pass for $30 at one of the Falls parking lots. Don't worry, it's not far.

Description

This gravel access road is used to reach the top of Catamount Trail, Upper Catamount Trail, and a number of others. The gate at the trailhead is open from May 20 - November 1 so there may be vehicles to watch out for. It's a pretty rough and bumpy road, especially if you're descending it after riding up the Catamount Trail instead of down.

Use the pink paw prints painted on small signs, rocks and gate posts to find the Catamount Trail on either end.
