Family Friendly No big hills or level of difficulty would make this fun for the family although make sure everyone has mountain bikes. This is not rail trail.

This is State Forest so please be aware there can be some hunters in the woods during the assorted hunting seasons.

Description

There is limited parking at the intersection of Shaw Mountain and Pond Roads, with space for no more than six vehicles.

Head up Pond Road passing by Falling Spring Road and, before the road turns right, enter the woods on the left. Follow the old grassy doubletrack looking for the start of the singletrack on your left. Continue straight across the first two forest roads for the continuation of the singletrack.

At the third forest road, hang a left and the take the next right at the "T" onto Ramm Road. Go approximately 1/2 mile until you see a logging road on the left. Look for the singletrack on the right.

Ride it for about 1/2 mile looking for a trail on your left. If you come back out on the forest road you went about 50 yards too far.

The last section is very fun with some "skills" sections and a short but steep little climb at the end to the parking area.

A big thanks to Dave, Bruce, Cory, Gordy and Mike for your hard work!

Enjoy!

Most of the trail has had an over story removal; there is still a logger on-site near the latter half of the trail.

Got turned around a few times. Trail is in dire need of riding or trimming. Nice after work springtime spin. 7mi — 1h 04m
