This section stays underneath a canopy of oak trees whereas most of the trail is open pine forest. Don’t worry about the food plot and shooting house, they’re for the Wounded Warrior Project and it only gets used once a year. So odds are pretty good you won’t get shot. This section ends on an old railroad bed that was used a hundred years ago to help harvest trees from the forest. The tracks are no longer there, but if you hunt for it you can find the derelict train trestle that crosses a tributary to Juniper Creek.
