While technical, it is easily ridden by most kids with any abilities beyond basic. It will be an adventure!
Description
Garden Brook heads uphill to the northwestern portion of the trails from the end of Copper Harbor Loop and TrailHead #1. About midway through, look for the exit of Downtown on the left at intersection #2. DO NOT enter Downtown here, as it is one-way.
Continue to the right of the exit, heading uphill along the twisty trail as it crosses a bridge over the stream on to the road crossing at US-41, at intersection #3. Continue across the highway through the wood gate with CAUTION.
This section, on the north side, requires some leg effort to climb a few of the sections that haves some prominent roots. Along the way, you'll pass multiple options to go on other trails. Stay on this trail to go all the way up to the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge and to get to the eastern ridge section of trails to make an epic ride all the way back to town, or break off to hit the other possibilities.
This trail is a blast. There are stream-side views, a few stream crossings on wood plank bridges, bank-cut, roller coaster surfing and sweeping switchbacks with banked berms. You cannot have a bad time on this trail. Go all the way up and then reverse it to bomb back to town.
