Description
Access this trail by cycling up the road from Les Houches train station to Le Coupeau, bearing left onto the trail at the second sharp right hand bend just after the Parcours Adventure Park.
The trail starts as a well-maintained doubletrack, immediately bearing right along the track above a cluster of buildings. After around 500m, immediately before reaching the isolated alpage chalet at Morand, switchback to the right and then immediately left, climbing up a slightly more technical and enjoyable doubletrack.
Continue straight ahead when you reach the Le Bettey turning to the right and enjoy a short section of flowing downhill. The track soon becomes singletrack, bearing right with a short, sharp traversing climb that most will carry. Keep climbing, traversing and cursing the short sections that you have to hike.
The singletrack climbing traverse soon becomes a descending traverse that flows well, although, it has plenty of roots, rocks and the occasional stream crossings to keep you on your toes. The descent becomes increasingly steep and with a precipitous slope you would not want to fall down to the left; it's best to be cautious the first time you ride this.
The track widens and steepens for the last couple of hundred meters before you emerge at Montvauthier. From here, follow the road down to Servoz, making sure to cut off the switchback corners with short sections of obvious singletrack.
