Description

This is a beautiful paved road that climbs to Ellis Peak Trail and the PCT/TRT. It follows Blackwood Creek for about three miles before climbing up to Barker Pass. This trail intersects with Gnome Trail- aka Grand Avenue-Barker Pass Connector (15N37) as well.

This is a very popular West Shore cycling route, and often has more bicycle traffic than cars.

Although not a mountain bike route per se, it can be used as part of a big loop to Ellis Peak Trail, McKinney Rubicon, Richardson Lake or to connect into the Homewood Ski area from Ellis Peak.

Along the climb, you'll have great views of Knee Ridge, Twin Peaks, Barker Peak, and Lake Tahoe of course. The aspen groves at the bottom along Blackwood Creek are some of the prettiest in the Tahoe Basin and become a sea of golden leaves in September.
