Description

North Prong Trail follows the North Prong of Big Run connecting Allegheny Mountain Trail to Elza and Big Run Trail.

This trail is a true backcountry ride that follows an old logging road. If you're looking for 'the road less traveled', this is it. It changes from doubletrack to singletrack to no track throughout.

The no track may not be for everyone, but this trail is a great way to connect to other great trails. No track refers to sections along the ridge through big overgrown meadows where the trail can be hard to spot, but you can follow the blue diamond blazes to keep your heading.

Near the start of the Elza Trail (TR556), there is a scenic meadow with a creek running through it creating a diverse wetland. This is not a challenging trail but the meadows can slow you down.
