The entrance of the trail is difficult to see, it's on the right side of the access road shortly after you pass the intersection with the small sand pit section. There is a large pine tree in front of the intersection with a stump directly behind it.

Be ready, as soon as you go over the roots near the entrance, this trail gets steep. The steepest section is short lived however, and things will mellow out a bit after the initial drop. You'll be on typical eastern trail from there, so keep an eye out for rocks and roots.
