Description
A relatively easy out-and-back with a lollipop loop on the Tuteur Loop, formally known as the
Napa Solano Ridge Trail, at the upper (southeast) end of the park. The ride uses
Lake Marie Road which is the "main street" for gaining access to the backcountry and practically every other trail in the park.
Head up
Lake Marie Road to Lake Marie, which is a good spot to take a break. Continue along the south shore where the trail merges with the
Skyline Trail past a ruin of a cabin with only the chimney left standing.
Skyline Trail is well-shaded along Marie Creek with a few challenging creek and gully crossings. About 0.5 mi. from the lake a gate marks the park boundary but trail users are allowed access to the
Napa Solano Ridge Trail which passes through private land. This trail is locally known as the Tuteur Loop Trail as seen on park signs and is shown here riding in the clockwise direction.
The loop returns to
Skyline Trail and Lake Marie. Take the easy way back on
Lake Marie Road or try some of the alternate trails like
Skyline Trail or
Buckeye Trail along the south boundary or
Marie Creek Trail and
Manzanita Trail on the north boundary. All trails join at Lake Marie and lead back to the day parking area.
