If passed, the reintroduced Blackfoot Clearwater Act would close this trail to mountain bikers (July 2019).
Description
To access this trail, start at the Monture Trailhead and enjoy a 1.5-mile warm-up on the
Monture Trail #27 until the junction with Falls Creek Trail to the right just after crossing the creek bridge.
Head right onto Falls Creek Trail. The first few miles are steep but rideable with good switchbacks. The middle few miles of the trail are on a bench above the creek with great trail. It's not too steep and flows through beargrass and lodgepole pine.
The last section to Camp Pass is steep and loose with some fun challenges. Then, the trail enters a burned out area which adds some great views!
From the pass, the trail descends to Camp and Otatsy Lakes. You can turn around and climb to return back to Monture Trailhead or continue south into Lake Creek and the North Fork trailhead or loop back to the Monture via several trails.
